The beginning of the Gospel about Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It is written in Isaiah the prophet: ‘I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way, a voice of one calling in the desert, “Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.”’

God said: ‘I will send my messenger ahead of you
to clear the way for you.
Someone is shouting in the desert
‘Get the road ready for the Lord
make a straight path for him to travel.’
Every year for each night during advent members of our congregation host Mary, Joseph and the donkey for the night. Due to restrictions they are unable to visit households this year but it hasn’t stopped them visiting Dumbarton. For the whole of advent they will be taking a tour around the town and we will be sharing photos of them every day.
Mary, Joseph and the Donkey have arrived in Dumbarton. Here they are getting off the train at Dumbarton East train station. They are off to find somewhere to stay, we hope they find somewhere with a room.
