Thought for the day 14 April

We hear on the News of tens, or hundreds, or maybe even thousands, who seem to be ignoring the guidelines on social distancing and not travelling. What we don’t hear so often is thanks and appreciation to the other 64 million (or whatever) people who are: doing it, not because someone in authority told them to, but because they work out for themselves that it is the best thing for themselves, their loved ones and friends, the community, and all those working in health and social care, delivery drivers, shop assistants etc. Give yourselves a pat on the back or a round of applause for friends, family, neighbours, the wider community.

Lord, thank you for the thoughtfulness of people. Help us to appreciate them, and the contribution that everyone is making to helping with this situation.
