Thought for the day 28 April

A minute’s silence was observed this morning in memory of those, particularly in the Health Service, who have died from Covid-19 picked up through their service to others. We might also call to mind those who caught it but recovered, and those who were always afraid that they might catch it as a result of their work. It is right that we take time to pause and recognise that selfless service is still part of the life of our community and country.

Lord, we thank you for the selfless service of healthcare and social care staff, and all other essential workers at this time. We pray for their safety, and we ask you to be with the family and friends of those who have died or are very ill
