Thought for the day 29 April

Living with dementia, living with people with dementia, coping with people with dementia is hard at any time. During this time of lockdown it is even harder, whether the person who has it lives with you, or in their own home. Getting them to observe the guidelines, in addition to eating, taking medication etc can be fraught, and test patience. It is also harder to access help and support. If there’s anything we can do (even offering a listening ear) let’s try to do it.

Lord, dementia is a cruel illness that can be stressful both for the person with it and wider family, friends or neighbours. Patience can be sorely tested. We pray for all affected by this, that patience will hold and that help and support will be available
