Is it Twelfth Night, or is that tomorrow? Different people have different views on the topic. Whichever, the Christmas season is drawing to an end, and decorations either are down, or will be soon. For some it was mainly about eating, drinking, watching television, and presents – and a series of parties and get-togethers (permitted or not). For others the whole time highlighted feelings of loneliness, sadness or worry. For some the characters from the story in Bethlehem are simply part of the seasonal decorations, along with Santa, snow and reindeer. For others the hope and joy in the angels’ message lives on, to cheer, to challenge, and to inspire to go out and work for peace and wholeness of life in a world that desperately needs it
Lord, whatever our festive period was like, help us to know the ongoing hope and joy of the angels’ message, as we pick up on the realities of life now that the festivities are over
