Fund-raising project supporting Embrace the Middle East

You may recall that in August last year there was a massive explosion in the port of Beirut. 80,000 children lost their homes. 700,000 homes were damaged. All this while Covid-19 was rampant. Unemployment and inflation soared. Over 75% of the country’s grain reserves were lost.

Embrace the Middle East (www.embraceme.org), has been supporting Christian partners there, who are working with and helping the most vulnerable and traumatised families.

Levette Callander has written a book to raise funds for Embrace’s work there. It will be available from the 17th March but can be pre-ordered now. Every penny of the £15 cost will go to help the people of Beirut.

The book is called “Taste and See” and is a collection of stories from friends, family and others about journeys, in different parts of the world, which impacted them in some way. (Round-the-world cyclist Mark Beaumont is a contributor.) There are also quotes, photos and around 50 recipes related to many countries.

If anyone would like to order a copy (or more than one!), please message/email Levette at levettejc@gmail.com . She can deliver within West Dunbartonshire at present.  Postage and packing, for one book, will be £5. Books can also be collected from her home after Launch Day, 17th March.
